H.H. Pope Shenouda delegated H.G. Bishop David to inquire about the youth's opinion about who they would nominate for a priest to serve the youth in our church. H.G. Bishop David prayed the English Liturgy on Sunday, October 11, 2009 and after communion he distributed specially numbered ballots to the youth from ages 12 to 40. H.G. then called and collected each ballot in order and they were placed in a pre-prepared box. After the election, H.G. himself carried the box. Later on Sunday evening, H.G. tallied the results and informed the Fr. David Bebawy that Dr. Hany Nashed gained the highest number of votes. By this tally, the youth have chosen Dr. Hany Nashed to serve them.
Thanks to our God, who always answers our prayers and sends laborers to His harvest. Thanks to our beloved Pope, who loves the youth and cares for them. Thanks to H.G. Bishop David, who performed this important task with a wise method that gained everyone's satisfaction.
Congratulations to the youth, congregation, and priests of our church, for a servant joining the service. Congratulations to Dr. Hany Nashed and his wife Dr. Mona Nashed who enjoy the love and trust of the majority.
